Yes, I am still building the RV-10

Hi. It has been a while since I've made a post. Fall gets pretty busy for me due to various theater things as I helped a local high school put on Les Miserables by designing the set and mentoring the build team in making it. Here are some fun photos from that with no real explanation. I am particularly proud of the garden gate that I made out of spite.

So here comes the reason for the update delays. I also helped with the run crew for the show and I got some fairly severe bronchitis at the end of the show. Unfortunately that meant I had to rest and couldn't really do much of anything except try and breathe. I ended up getting an inhaler from the doctor to help a bit and eventually I got over it but it was months! I also sadly had a friend take his own life which puts a lot on your mind while you consider what life means to you.

Along the way, it snowed a bunch. I got an electric snowblower and the thing is amazing.

Sadly my cat of 12 years passed away after getting his own breathing issues. This was shortly before Christmas so not a great start to the holidays.

My EAA chapter purchased a Zenith kit to build while focusing on selling the Murphy Rebel.

There was another musical my wife was involved in so I had to pick up the child watching in the early February. He was eager to help out though.

I was made the Secretary for my EAA chapter so some of my energies were dedicated to that (and board member stuff). Life really do just keep coming. No photos of that, because I guess I didn't take any.

Moving along, the spring show at the local High School started up and I was there again to lead the build. We had a lot of extra labor available so we mostly used the opportunity to catch up on our shop being a mess and organizing things. I don't want to share photos of minors, and I didn't take any of the set empty, but one of the students drew this fanart of me.

It was still cold out so I picked up a hobby of embroidery. Got a machine mostly so I could experiment with making patches to wear for various flying "missions" I do. It is pretty corny but it is my life so I'm going to do things that make me happy. I figured out how to design custom things and away I went.

I attended a memorial for my friend that took his life. It was at a beautiful garden that he loved.

I ended up building a playground for my kid from a kit but that too took time.

Finally I've been organizing various flights for my EAA chapter as well as trying to fly to as many events as I can as the weather improves. I bought a share of a skyhawk and here is a smattering of photos from my flying where I have been kind of all over (and flying Young Eagles with the EAA).

Sorry for the long delay in build updates. I have been learning that there is only one of me and have stopped giving my time to theater work so I can refocus on building my own airplane. Of course I got sick from my kid and slept all Saturday but there is more Saturdays in the future.

So long, I hope everyone is well. See you in the skies!
